How paying for lessons works, written for parents and guardians.
You pay for each month in advance, by the 7th of that month. The amount shows on your dashboard from the 25th of the month before, so it is never a surprise. For example, October's lessons show from 25 September and must be paid by 7 October.
Your child has a lesson on the same day every week, and every lesson is one hour. The month is worked out like this:
So a student with a Monday lesson at £50 an hour, in a month with five Mondays where one is a bank holiday, pays 4 × £50 = £200.
There are no lessons on bank holidays in England and Wales, or on the tutor's holidays, which you can see on your dashboard. These lessons are never put on your bill, so there is nothing to claim back.
Holidays are set before the month's bill appears, so the amount you see is always right. If a holiday is added after you have paid for that month, the amount you paid doesn't change and the tutor will sort it out with you directly.
Your fee depends on your child's level, and on whether lessons are one-to-one or in a group of up to three. Current prices are on our website. The price when lessons start is the price you pay.
One-to-one students can book extra lessons on top of their weekly lesson. An extra lesson goes on the next month's bill. Group lessons don't have extra lessons.
If your child starts partway through a month, payments begin from the next month.
Once a month has been paid, its lessons can't be cancelled or refunded. If the tutor can't teach a lesson, it will be rescheduled.
The month shows as paid straight away.
The tutor will mark the month as not paid, and may add a note. You'll see this on your dashboard, and the tutor will reach out to you.
